New 5-Story Parking Structure Unveiled At Graton Resort & Casino

Graton Resort & Casino unveiled its new five-story parking structure Monday.

The garage, the first completed project in a multi-year expansion that began last summer, adds 1,600 spots and 32 electric-vehicle charging stations to the resort. Its digital signage system uses next-generation wayfinding to display real-time parking space availability for each level.

The new construction features multiple sustainable elements, such as a 1-megawatt photovoltaic solar panel system that generates power for the building. The casino said in a news release that additional eco-friendly features include LED light fixtures, water-conscious plants and landscaping, and low-level volatile organic compound —VOC— concrete, paints and adhesives.

The well-lit, open and airy garage has elevated floor lights and extra-wide parking spots with double lines to prevent dings and scratches.

Coinciding with the garage’s opening, the casino’s valet services now feature zero-emission, 100 percent electric shuttles for transporting guests to and from the facility.

The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, a federally recognized Indian tribe comprised of Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo Indians, own and operate the casino and resort which opened in November 2013 on tribal lands in the Sonoma County city of Rohnert Park.

The next phase of the tribe’s $1 billion casino expansion involves an extension to the east of the current facility, adding a new poker room, a high-limit gaming area, a sports bar, and a rooftop restaurant.

The project was expected to employ 2,000 people with temporary construction jobs and 600 people as new Graton Resort & Casino team members.

The project architects are Walter P. Moore & Associates of San Diego and Bergman Walls & Associates of Henderson, Nevada. The project developer is ECL Development LLC, of Las Vegas, and the general contractor is SMC Contracting, Inc. of Sparks, Nevada.
